After: We veneered the cabinet face frames, replaced the open corner cabinet shelves, extended the doors over the desk to cover the valance, and extended the lower corner doors for a more finished look

After: Homeowner chose a low profile door in maple with Colonial stain giving is a rustic charm. We added matching panels on the cabinet ends and around the island and a simple stepped cove molding to the top.
