Featured Project:  Peeling Thermal Foil Cabinets Transformed to Look Like New Custom Cabinets!

Highlights:

  • Dated thermal foil cabinet doors were peeling and discolored.
  • Doors were replaced with a more classic painted wood door.
  • Crown molding and end panels were added to give the plain cabinets a more custom cabinet look.
  • To add color and design interest the island is changed to gray with bead board panels and corbels.
  • The desk was removed and replaced with a pots and pan drawer cabinet with full extension soft close glides and a tray base cabinet were added to improve storage.

After raising their family in this home, the owners were ready for a kitchen upgrade that would not only be cost-effective but also transform the space into a stylish and functional area. With some minor layout changes, they set out to replace the peeling and discolored thermal foil cabinets with high-quality wood painted cabinets, instantly giving the kitchen a fresh and updated look.

To maintain a sense of continuity, the owners decided to keep the white perimeter cabinets. However, they wanted to add a touch of visual interest and personality to the space. They accomplished this by introducing a gray island with bead board paneling and corbels. The gray island stands as a striking focal point, contrasting beautifully against the white cabinets and adding depth and dimension to the kitchen.

To further enhance the custom cabinet look, crown molding and decorative cabinet end panels were incorporated into the design. These thoughtful details not only elevate the aesthetic appeal but also create a sense of sophistication and elegance.

In addition to the cabinet upgrades, the owners also made practical changes to improve storage and functionality. They removed a rarely used desk area and replaced it with a pots and pans drawer stack, allowing for easy access and organization. Upper cabinets were also added to maximize storage space, ensuring that every utensil and kitchen gadget has its rightful place.

The result of this kitchen transformation is a harmonious blend of style and function. The outdated thermal foil cabinets have been replaced with high-quality wood painted cabinets, instantly breathing new life into the space. The addition of the gray island with bead board paneling and corbels adds a touch of personality and visual interest. Crown molding and decorative cabinet end panels give the kitchen a custom cabinet look, while the removal of the desk area and the inclusion of additional storage options improve functionality. The owners have successfully created a kitchen that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and efficient.
